TAFFETA

Taffeta is a smooth and crisp fabric that is made up of silk yarns. It is considered as the high fashion fabric that is suitable for all types of clothing and can also be used in interior decoration for curtains or wall covers. Taffeta cloth is made up of plain or tabby weave and the textures of each fabric vary accordingly. It has a crisp drape and comes in varying weights. Taffeta silk is considered a luxurious fabric. Piece dyed taffeta is used in linings as it is quite soft. However, yarn dyed taffeta silk is used in gowns and other evening dresses, as it is much stiffer. Taffeta silk is recommended to be dry cleaned or hand washed to keep up with its texture.
